Our Team
Matthew Kaplan
President and Founder
Matthew Kaplan is the President of Patriot Health Partners, bringing a decade of leadership experience and a proven track record of delivering on organizational missions. Prior to co-founding Patriot Health Partners, Matthew held the position of Director of Data Mining and Analytics at the Delphi Group, a prominent bundled payment initiative in New Hampshire. His professional journey includes roles as a Business Development Specialist at ClearChoiceMD and consulting for project management firms in the state. Matthew holds a secondary education in Earth Sciences and Geology from the University of New Hampshire, complemented by a post-secondary M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from Southern New Hampshire University. His diverse background and commitment to healthcare excellence drive the success of Patriot Health Partners under his leadership. Matthew and his seven siblings were born and raised in Franklin, NH, and currently reside in Goffstown with his wife and daughter.
Cheryl Nelson
Vice President and Partner
Cheryl Nelson brings more than 30 years of expertise in revenue cycle and client account management to her role. With a steadfast commitment to prioritizing clients, Cheryl excels at building and maintaining relationships across organizational levels, boasting a proven track record of successful process improvement initiatives. Before joining Patriot Health Partners, Cheryl served as the Vice President of Client Services at Koha Health, where she played a key role in establishing a best-in-class account management team. Her extensive career also includes over 13 years at athenahealth, contributing significantly to client account management and revenue cycle operations. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cheryl finds joy in the greens or sand bunkers during her weekly golf rounds and cherishes moments with her family, including her granddaughter.
Jordin Newport
Vice President of Client Performance
Jordin Newport brings over a decade of experience in the healthcare industry, catering to practices of various sizes. Specializing in smooth client onboarding processes, Jordin ensures that new clients seamlessly integrate with the platform and derive maximum benefits. With a focus on revenue cycle management, Jordin possesses a comprehensive understanding of the existing systems. Advocating for strategic reengineering, Jordin aims to enable practices to optimize their revenue collection processes efficiently.
Rebecca Kaplan
Director of Media and Messaging
Rebecca is the Director of Media and Messaging for Patriot Pay. She has three years of experience in the marketing world and is passionate about providing detailed information for consumers and workers in the healthcare industry. Prior to Patriot Pay, Rebecca was a high school English teacher and currently serves as the Sales and Customer Relations Rep for Boomer’s BBQ, a family owned and operated business. Rebecca holds a B.A. in English teaching with a minor in history and an M.A.T. from the University of New Hampshire. Beyond her professional career, Rebecca loves traveling, cooking, and spending time with her growing family.
Nick Vailas
Partner
Nick Vailas possesses over 35 years of experience in both the public and private sector of healthcare and currently serves as the Chairman of Patriot Health Partners. Nick is considered a healthcare entrepreneur, having developed multiple surgical centers, physical therapy clinics, and urgent care centers. Nick is the founder of Compass Smart Shopper (a healthcare transparency cost tool), the Delphi Group, and Patriot Health Insurance. Nick holds a graduate degree in exercise physiology from the University of Michigan.
